In which allegiances are tested, schemes are hatched, loyalties are strained, and Angel bemoans the dearth of chains in his recent love life.

A demon offers to sell Buffy and Faith the Books of Ascension but Faith, acting on behalf of the Mayor and defying Buffy, kills the demon and steals the books. When Angel refuses to help Faith, the Mayor enlists a shrouded demon to rob Angel of his soul.

DARK ANGEL - Faith and the Mayor's secret alliance becomes an all-powerful triumvirate of evil against Buffy when they conspire to rob Angel of his soul. Meanwhile, Giles has unofficially resumed his role as Watcher, as Wesley is distracted from his sacred duties by Cordelia's amorous attention.
